Chef Marcia received her formal culinary training at L'Academie de Cuisine,
Washington DC's premier culinary school.  While attending culinary school Marcia
worked at Balduccis Market as a cheese specialist and at 1789 Restaurant.
Marcia graduated from L'Academie at the top of her class and continued on at
1789 under Executive Chef Ris Lacoste.

Sharing great food with others is a passion for Chef Marcia Puc - to her there's
nothing better than spending the morning at a farmer's market and then going
home to cook up a scrumptous meal!

Becoming a chef was a second career for Marcia.  After earning a degree in
political science from the University of Connecticut, Marcia left her home state
for Washington D.C. to pursue a career in government relations.  While living in
Washington Marcia was exposed to wonderful restaurants and many ethnic
cuisines she had not experienced while growing up in suburban Connecticut.  It
was during this time that Marcia took her cooking to a new level – studying
cookbooks and magazines, searching gourmet food shops and farmers markets
and experimenting with new dishes every moment she could.  Finally, a trip to
France was the turning point in Marcia’s career.  The abundance of so many
wonderful fresh ingredients and the French appreciation for fine food made
Marcia realize that she wanted to share this kind of joy with others.

While working in a restaurant kitchen was an invaluable experience and a lot of
fun, it lacked that personal contact with customers.  “I missed seeing people
say ‘yum’ – something that friends and family would say after tasting my meals”.
As a personal chef Marcia works one on one with clients to create a unique and
memorable dining experience.  Marcia and her family tend their own small
garden and are members of a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
farm.  She strives to incorporate local produce, meats, cheese and other artisan
products into her menus.  She is passionate about keeping local farms alive.

"As a personal chef I take great pride in providing a unique and memorable
dining experience for each and every one of my clients"   ~ Marcia
